Job Description

As an Engineering Geologist Intern at AECOM, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and contribute to impactful projects while developing your skills and knowledge in geology and engineering.

This internship is perfect for students who are eager to learn, embrace challenges, and manage a variety of tasks. Your responsibilities will include both office-based analysis and fieldwork, providing a well-rounded experience in the field.

How You’ll Make a Difference:

  • Support project planning and engineering design by assisting in the analysis and documentation of geological data.
  • Help guide engineering decisions by participating in geological and geotechnical assessments.
  • Join site evaluations to assess geological conditions and monitor project progress, gaining practical insights into the fieldwork process.

Qualifications

  • Summer Intern attributes: Interns who are curious and excited to apply their studies in a professional environment. You'll bring strong communication and teamwork skills, a positive and proactive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree: You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Geology or a related discipline. 
  • Commencement: Able to work full time hours from 16 November 2026 – 19 February 2027. 
  • Working Rights: You must have full working rights to work in Australia and New Zealand before applying.
