Job Description
As a Power Engineering Intern, you will be exposed to a broad range of design, engineering, and consulting activities across high‑voltage power systems within the ANZ region. Your work will span Transmission and Distribution networks, distributed generation, and associated infrastructure, covering voltage levels from 11kV to 500kV.
You will support the delivery of a range of large and small projects. Daily activities include contributing to technical design development, engineering calculations, and project documentation. Working alongside experienced engineers and project teams, you will assist with coordinating timelines, managing deliverables, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant standards.
How you’ll make a difference:
- Assist with the design and analysis of HV power systems, including preparation of calculations, drawings, and technical reports
- Assist with the development of substation models and undertake simulations for primary electrical studies using specialised software packages.
- Contribute to consultation activities with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders under guidance from senior engineers
- Apply relevant engineering standards, procedures, and safety requirements across all tasks
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities as required
- Actively engage in learning and development, building technical capability and professional engineering skills
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support successful project outcomes

Qualifications
- Summer Intern attributes: Interns who are curious and excited to apply their studies in a professional environment. You'll bring strong communication and teamwork skills, a positive and proactive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
- Bachelor’s Degree: You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Commencement: Able to work full time hours from 16 November 2026 – 19 February 2027.
- Working Rights: You must have full working rights to work in Australia and New Zealand before applying.
