About the Role

Key Responsibilities:          

  • Assist in solving maintenance related problems with minimum interruption to production.
  • Perform all maintenance and repair work in either the plant or grounds as assigned.
  • Ensure all weld quality specifications are met, by continuously monitoring the weld processes on the equipment assigned.
  • Troubleshoot all aspects of the weld process as required.
  • Assist in maintaining up to date documentation of all equipment. This includes documenting all of the changes to the equipment in MVP.
  • Actively participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program, and down time reduction process. This includes following the PMP schedule and completing the PMP checklists.
  • Participate in development and implementation of latest technologies to improve productivity and/or quality.
  • Make recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and cost reduction. This includes manufacturing, repairs and installations of parts, components, services and equipment.
  • Maintain clean and safe working conditions.
  • Actively participate in the preparation of safety and operation procedures.
  • Provide support to the Assembly Support Department, Facilities Department and Press/Toolroom as required.

Basic Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in a related field.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and tools is an asset.
  • Experience with mechanical systems is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of welding process (GMAW).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem solving techniques.

This job posting is for an existing vacancy. The total cash compensation range for this position is expected to be:

$17.60 - $25.48
