Job Description :

Your Job: This position delivers limited respiratory care support services under the supervision of an individual who holds a certificate issued under the Texas Civil Statues, Article 45121 assisting in providing care to patients and their families. The extern program also provides educational opportunities related to Respiratory Care. Your Job Requirements: • High School Diploma or Equivalent required • Must be enrolled in an AMA accredited Respiratory Care program • Basic Life Support • Six months work experience preferred • Computer skills, data entry and filing Your Job Responsibilities: • Recognize and communicate changes in patient condition and know when to seek a licensed RCP. • Assist in maintaining the adequacy, orderliness, and safety of the unit's environment, equipment, and supplies. • Participate in the activities of the unit, including meetings, in-services, and continuing education at the direction of the licensed RCP, Team Leader, or Clinical Manager. • Cleans/Reprocesses equipment in accordance with all departmental & Infection Prevention policies.. • Maintains inventory & effectively communicates all supplies needs to Material Specialist and/or department leadership for ordering purposes. • May perform routine respiratory care activities under the supervision of a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) who holds a Texas state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), includes aerosol therapy, CPT, pulse oximetry, Incentive Spirometry oxygen therapy, MDI, patient education and set-up of respiratory equipment.
