Description
The Intern will support the Supply Chain team with respect to importation of goods. Focus on the areas of delivery schedule management, purchase order confirmation, shipment tracking, open order reports, date management, and expedite coordination.

You will have a stable schedule and work only daylight hours. No night or weekend shifts. This will be a temporary, full-time position for approximately four months August - November 2026. This position is on-site at the office five days a week. You will have direct exposure to company leaders, use of our ERP system and other technology. There will be collaboration with our Maryland office and international colleagues.
Essential Functions
- Maintain accurate import delivery schedules by updating purchase order dates, supplier confirmations, shipment milestones, and expected receipt information.
- Track international shipments from supplier readiness through final delivery, following up with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams as needed.
- Review open purchase orders to identify missing confirmations, delayed shipments, date changes, and potential supply risks requiring follow-up or escalation.
- Support expedite activity for critical materials by gathering status updates, documenting supplier responses, and helping communicate realistic delivery expectations.
- Assist with supply chain reporting, data accuracy checks, process documentation, and improvement projects that strengthen planning and on-time delivery visibility.
- Gain hands-on exposure to import logistics, supplier communication, ERP data maintenance, and practical supply chain decision-making in a manufacturing/distribution environment.

Requirements
· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate dates, order information, and shipment status updates.
· Ability to complete assigned functions in a time-sensitive and variable environment where priorities may change.
· Ability to communicate professionally with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners both verbally and in writing.
· Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, supplier confirmations, shipping documents, SOPs, work instructions, and related documentation.
· Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and ERP systems to support daily supply chain activities.
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple open tasks, follow-ups, and deadlines.
· Ability to provide and accept feedback from peers and management in a professional manner.
Education and Experience Required:
· Working towards or completed a 4-year degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
· Prior coursework, internship, or project experience related to purchasing, logistics, inventory, or supply chain is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.
· Regularly required to communicate by phone, email, Microsoft Teams, and in person.
· Occasionally may be required to walk through warehouse or operations areas to support shipment or inventory-related follow-up.
· Occasionally may lift or move light materials, documents, or samples as needed.
