About the Role

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking a Human Resources Intern to provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team while gaining hands-on experience in various HR functions. This internship offers exposure to recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, HR compliance, personnel records management, and general office administration. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, maintains confidentiality, and enjoys working with people.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Assist with recruiting activities, including scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Prepare new hire paperwork and support the onboarding process.
  • Maintain and organize employee personnel files, both electronic and paper.
  • Assist with HR data entry and record maintenance within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.
  • Assist with benefit enrollment materials and other employee communications.
  • Help prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Perform document filing, scanning, copying, and other administrative duties.
  • Support compliance efforts by assisting with I-9 documentation, personnel file audits, and record retention.
  • Respond to routine employee questions and direct more complex inquiries to appropriate HR staff.
  • Assist with special HR projects as assigned.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information.


Job Specifications:

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma/GED and at least two years of schooling pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

Years’ Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Skills:

  • Possesses knowledge in human resources processes and the ability to coordinate activities for a team
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills 
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize changing situations
  • Ability to recognize and solve typical problems and select solutions from established options 
  • Possesses strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
