Reports to: Director
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Days
Status: Temporary Full-Time (contract until end of August 2026) 

Join UHN's Procurement and Supply Chain Department, as the Admin Support - Summer Student. Procurement and Supply Chain ensures that the right products get to the right place at the right time, which is integral to patient care. Procurement is responsible for overseeing all the processes involved in acquiring the products, materials, goods and services, needed for efficient business operations at UHN. Supply Chain overseas the movement of products, materials, or goods by receiving and delivering those supplies to the ordering departments. You will play a key role in supporting the Procurement Team.

Duties:

  • Interact with procurement, finance, and management staff in addition to external clients and partnering hospitals
  • Have opportunity to exercise judgment and decision-making in the provision of moderately complex support service, including:
    • Performing clerical, statistical and financial processing activities
    • Proofreading, typing/word processing and inputting data/information
    • Providing support with the maintenance of electronic and paper information filing/retrieval methods, systems and/or formats

Qualifications

 Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
  • Six (6) months recent related experience
  • Previous on-the-job computer/word processing and database software experience
  • Experience in a Microsoft Office software environment, preferred
  • Experience working in a health care environment, an asset
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good telephone, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to produce work in accordance with Hospital standards
  • Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Ability to perform routine work independently
  • General knowledge of processes, procedures and standards
  • Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
