About the Role

Music Archivist Assistant, SC1MSLBASSTACI (FA26)
Student Worker Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 
Assist music archivist and music faculty in catalog of music holdings.

  • Under direction of music archivist and music faculty, catalog music holdings.
  • Process requests to borrow music, in accordance with established borrowing policies.
  • Under supervision of music archivist, update electronic database of holdings.
  • Identify, distribute and file music.
  • Under supervision of music archivist, assess condition of music.
  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • THIS IS A STUDENT JOB.
      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
      • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
      • If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
      • If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
    • Experience
      • Basic music-reading ability required.
      • Familiarity with choral and instrumental ensembles required.
    • Licenses and Certifications
      • COD Training
        • Compliance Training

      Working Conditions:

    • Computer skills; MS Office Word, Excel.
    • Requires sorting, lifting, and transporting large boxes and stacks of music.
    • This student position does not require pre-employment testing.
    • Pay Rate: Student Rate 1 - $15.00 per hour
