About the Role

Music Assistant - Choral, SC1CHORALPARTS (FA26)
Student Worker Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

Assist faculty in Music Department.

  • Service all choral ensembles plus selected classroom courses.
  • Filling in forms, contracts, requisitions.
  • Mailing projects.
  • Setting up music room for instruction and rehearsals.
  • Filing, managing, disseminating and coordinating printed music.
  • Manage music library.
  • Marking instrumental parts.
  • Assist with receptions, coffee/tea set ups.
  • Errands, photocopy, concert publicity, posters, postcards.
  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • THIS IS A STUDENT JOB.
      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
      • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
      • If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.

    • Experience
      • Good public relation abilities required.
      • Some knowledge of music essential required.
      • Student who participates in music ensembles required.
      • Ability to follow through on tasks required.
    • Licenses and Certifications
      • COD Training
        • Compliance Training

      Working Conditions:

    • Copy machine, PC and sound systems.
    • Moving furniture, large boxes of music, instruments and stands.
    • Occasional nights and weekends/flexible.
    • Hours: 10 hours per week.
    • This student position does not require pre-employment testing.
    • Pay Rate: Student Rate 1 - $15.00 per hour
