Inviting Applications for the role of Data Engineer Intern– GigaAcademy Kosovo Program

This full-time, intensive track is designed for individuals ready to work at the frontier of Artificial Intelligence and enterprise innovation.

Participants will build a strong base in traditional AI/ML and deep learning, then advance into GenAI, LLM applications, and production-ready agentic systems aligned with real-world enterprise use cases. The program operates in a structured, high-performance environment that mirrors global engineering standards.

This track is ideal for aspiring engineers who want hands-on experience building scalable AI systems and integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and work with the modern data stack including SQL, Python, Apache Spark, and end-to-end ETL pipelines
• Develop strong data engineering fundamentals including:
  • Data modeling
  • Data transformation
  • Pipeline orchestration

• Build and work with the modern data stack including SQL, Python, Apache Spark, and end-to-end ETL pipelines
• Develop strong data engineering fundamentals including:

• Gain foundational exposure to one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) through guided project work
• Gain exposure to Data Lakes and Lakehouse architectures
• Work with enterprise tools such as Databricks and Snowflake
• Apply your skills through guided project simulations aligned to real-world enterprise use cases
• Collaborate within structured team environments that mirror global delivery standards
• Participate in daily learning sessions, hands-on labs, and performance assessments
   

Minimum Qualifications / Skills

• Third-year university student or above, recent graduate, or professional transitioning into technology
• Foundational knowledge of:  
  • Python programming & SQL
  • Basic Programming Concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High motivation to learn AI, cloud technologies, and engineering principles
• Full-time availability for the 4-month intensive program
• Ability to participate in daily training sessions and assessments
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal)

Bonus Points/Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Familiarity with Machine Learning or Deep Learning models
• Basic understanding of LLMs and generative AI
• Exposure to RAG pipelines or vector databases
• Knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows
• Participation in AI-related projects, hackathons, or internships
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
