About the Role

Peer Tutor-WRSA, SC1WRITSSLRC (FA26)
Student Worker Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 
To provide academic assistance to students in Writing, Reading, Speech Assistance Areas of the College of DuPage.

  • Provide one-on-one writing, reading, and public speaking assistance to students in all academic disciplines and participate in training on related topics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • THIS IS A STUDENT JOB.
      • Completion of English 1101 with a grade of B or higher, and a GPA of 3.3 required.
      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
      • If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
      • Completion of English 1102 and Speech 1100 with grade of B or higher preferred.
    • Experience
      • Proficient in spoken and written English required.
    • Licenses and Certifications
      • COD Training
        • Compliance Training

      Working Conditions:

    • Daytime, evening and/or week-end hours may be required.
    • Up-to-date in relevant technologies.
    • This position is subject to a background check and education verification at the expense of the College.

      • Pay Rate: Student Rate 2 - $15.80 per hour
