About Us

We are currently looking for a student to work at our Greensboro North America Office as a Marketing Communication & Exhibitions Intern for Volvo Trucks North America. The student should be prepared to gain experience and knowledge in various aspects of marketing and exhibitions. 

The Marketing Communication & Exhibitions Intern will provide support to Volvo Trucks North America marketing and communication efforts. This role will assist with key tasks including trade show logistics and event coordination, cross-functional communication management, dealer communications, social media marketing, and community management.

Who are you?

Minimum Education and Program Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in academic courses and pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field and must have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship.
  • Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75/4.0
  • Interns can work up to 30 hours per week during the fall internship period.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • This intern will be based in Greensboro, NC.

What You Will Do:

  • Support in event coordination of all major VTNA events, including but not limited to trade shows, media events, specialized dealer, customer and sales team events as well as product launch events.
  • Assist in cross-functional communication between departments and business areas of Volvo to support deliverables and timelines for events and supporting staff.
  • Support in the creation and management of Operating Program Requests and event budget tracking documents.
  • Manage merchandise needs for events, track status of inventory and complete routine organization.
  • Compile information and write a weekly newsletter for Volvo Truck’s dealers.
  • Utilize platforms such as Cvent, Microsoft Forms, PowerPoint, and Excel.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
