About The Company
Continuing Medical Education (CME) is a division within the College of Medicine with the University of Saskatchewan. CME is a leader in enhancing the patient's quality of health through its innovative educational opportunities in lifelong learning. CME offers continued learning through online courses, virtual and in-person conferences, and partnered programs. CME also provides event services to assist with the planning and organization of events. Event Accreditation helps organizing committees stay on track with all the elements required by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the College of Family Physicians of Canada for an event to be claimed for study credits by your learners. The Division of CME is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME). As such we can help you accredit your event for specialists for the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program and for Family Physicians though the Mainpro+ program.

In the appointment of CGPS Governance Intern, your general duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Assisting with the development of the College’s annual governance calendar, including coordinating governance committee activities, scheduling meetings and preparing agendas.
  • Maintaining accurate records of governance decisions and policy updates, and support timely updates to official documentation.
  • Draft communications related to governance activities, including meeting notices, reports, minutes and policy updates.
  • Conducting research and analysis on governance policies, procedures, and related best practices.
  • Assist with data collection and analysis to support governance processes and reporting.
  • Participate in other various special projects as needed.

Your general location of work will be in the CGPS offices of USask’s Saskatoon Campus, and you will report to the Academic Affairs and Governance Specialist.

Required Number of Hours: 10 hours per week
Duration of Employment: September 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027 with the possibility of extension.
Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)
This internship is open to all current USask graduate students. A student pursuing a graduate degree in Educational Administration, Public Policy, Public Administration, or Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on higher education, policy studies, or governance processes would be ideally suited. Previous involvement in academic governance or related administrative roles is considered an asset.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical thinking and attention to detail are also considered an asset.
