About the Role

Job Description:

Customer Service Intern

Huntsman is seeking a Customer Service Intern supporting the Customer Service / Supply Chain Department located in San José, Costa Rica. This position will report to the Customer Service Manager.

Job Scope

Our intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled as full-time students at an accredited university. This will be a 12-month Internship. Working hours can be a minimum of 24 hours up to 40 hours per week- dependent on the intern’s availability. The goal of the Huntsman Intern Program is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career. Compensation is of 420,000 colones per month.

The Customer Service Intern will support the Customer Service team within the Supply Chain department. This role is responsible for managing customer orders and communications while supporting daily operations and ensuring excellent customer service. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.

In Summary, as a Customer Service Intern, You Will:

Customer Service and Order Management

  • Manage day-to-day relationships and orders for assigned customer accounts, providing professional, trustworthy, and proactive service.

  • Handle customer orders, issues, product returns, cancellations, complaints, quotes, documentation requests, and same-day order entry.

  • Contribute to customer service metrics, including order entry time, confirmation time, cancellations, and other service indicators.

  • Apply service standards (“business rules”) to customer ordering and delivery processes.

  • Communicate regularly with customers and/or sales representatives regarding account status.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain Planning, and Logistics to resolve order blocks.

Data Management and Documentation

  • Maintain and update customer master data in company systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure all customer data management activities comply with company policies and regulations.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of data management processes and procedures.

Collaboration and Operational Support

  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Commercial, and other departments to resolve operational customer-related issues.

  • Balance workload, including orders, calls, and emails, while demonstrating strong multitasking and prioritization skills.

  • Demonstrate Huntsman’s customer service values in all interactions.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

All candidates are expected to work at our office in AFZ, Heredia on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please note that there may be occasions where additional office days are required, due specific business needs.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Licentiate degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade and Business, or a related field. Recently graduated students from Technical High Schools with relevant studies may also be considered.

  • Written and spoken proficiency in English (B2+) and Spanish.
