JOB TITLE: 

Assistant Athletic Trainer - Football

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION: 

Front line support for UW student-athletes while competing in their sport while gaining professional relationships and knowledge of various sports, first aid care, and general sports medicine knowledge/exposure. This position serves University of Wyoming student athletes

Job location:  High Altitude Performance Center

Pay rate or range:  $9.00/Hour

JOB PURPOSE: 

Assist University of Wyoming Football Certified Athletic Training Staff with Sports Medicine Functions

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Certified Athletic Trainers with set-up and tear down of athletic team practices and events
  • Help with the daily operations of the athletic training room under supervision of staff certified athletic trainers
  • Provide on-going hydration and athletic observation during athletic practices and events
  • Assist with Athletic Training room maintenance, inventory and cleaning
  • Occasional travel with team to away contests for game-day assistance as assigned
  • Adhere to confidentiality guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:  Currently Enrolled at the University of Wyoming as a student
Other requirements:

  • Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to consistently lift 25 or more pounds at a time with or without reasonable accommodations 
  • Ability to be present most weekday afternoons and early evenings
  • Able to carry supplies and maintain communication and focus for 2-3 hours at a time with or without reasonable accommodations 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and to work both independently or under supervision.
