Title: Intramural Sports Specialist

Employment Time: Student Worker, Non-Exempt

Hours: Part time, up to 15 hours/week

 

  1. Position Summary

The Intramural Sports Specialists are responsible for the planning, execution, design, and support of intramural sports programs sponsored by the Office of Student Engagement.

Direct Report to: Director and Assistant Director of Student Engagement


  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute intramural sports programs for students using student interest and past programming data 
  • Available to work during events; including occasional off campus, night, and weekend events
  • Work closely with the marketing team to advertise programs and events through tabling, content creation, promotional efforts, etc
  • Work closely with information specialists to coordinate and execute programs 
  • Motivate students and maintain excitement while promoting student engagement
  • Identify faculty and staff members to promote to and collaborate with on specific events
  • Keep up to date with campus events/activities across organizations and departments

  1. Education and Experience

Minimum

  • Full-Time Day Undergraduate Student
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • No Judicial Hold or Probationary Status


  1. Physical Requirements

Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.

 

  1. Other Requirements: 
  • This is a part-time non-Exempt student Worker position. Depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule.
  • Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required
  • Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner
