Title: Programming Specialist

Division: Student Affairs

Employment Time: Student Worker, Non-Exempt

Hours: Part-time, up to 15 hours/week

 

  1. Position Summary

The Programming Specialists are responsible for the planning, advertisement, creative design, and support of events sponsored by the Office of Student Engagement.

  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute creative and innovative programs for students using student interest and past programming data 
  • Available to work during events; including occasional off campus, night, and weekend events
  • Support and aid in the planning, execution, and growth of signature events
  • Collect and analyze survey results from student participants at events
  • Work closely with the marketing team to advertise programs and events through tabling, street team promotion, etc
  • Work closely with information specialists to execute programs and events 
  • Motivate students and maintain excitement while promoting student engagement
  • Identify faculty and staff members to promote to and collaborate with on specific events
  • Keep up to date with campus events/activities across organizations and departments

  1. Education and Experience

Minimum

  • Full-Time Day Undergraduate Student
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • No Judicial Hold or Probationary Status


  1. Physical Requirements

Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.


  1. Other Requirements: 
  • This is a part-time non-Exempt student Worker position. Depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule
  • Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required.
  • Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner
