Position Summary
The Marketing & Communications Intern will support the Development & Marketing team in promoting the organization's programs, events, and initiatives through digital and traditional communication channels. This internship offers hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, website updates, email marketing, photography coordination, graphic design, media relations, and event promotion. The intern will gain exposure to a fast-paced marketing environment while developing valuable skills in strategic communications, branding, and digital marketing.
This position is ideal for a current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field who is eager to build a professional portfolio and contribute to meaningful projects.
This is a part-time hybrid internship requiring 20 hours per week. Workdays and hours are flexible and will be coordinated with the intern's academic schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Support TEDCO’s marketing and development campaigns by collecting and analyzing data (both quantitative and qualitative)
- Assist in the planning and execution of marketing and fundraising campaigns across digital platforms
- Create and edit content for press releases, newsletters, reports, and promotional materials
- Support social media, website, and email marketing efforts
- Conduct research on prospective donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities
- Update marketing and development databases, including CRM and tracking spreadsheets
- Provide event support as needed
- Contribute to the development and ongoing updates of the Comprehensive Marketing Plan,
- Marketing Succession Plan, and Development Strategy Plan
- Provide administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the Development &
- Marketing Department’s activities
Qualifications - Prefer Undergraduates majoring in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Graphic Design. Junior or Senior level prefer. Graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative
- Interest in marketing, marketing analytics, and development
Preferred Skills - Familiarity with design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Experience with website platforms (e.g. Drupal, WordPress)
- Exposure to CRM and fundraising tools (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot)
- Understanding of digital marketing platforms (e.g. Google Ads, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Buffer)
- General knowledge of how these tools support donor engagement and campaign tracking
Work Environment
This position operates in a hybrid work environment, with employees generally expected to work on-site at TEDCO’s offices at least two days per week, subject to business and operational needs.
Pay: $25/hour
