About the Role

Major League Baseball is looking for an Investigative Intern (Fall) in the Department of Investigations to assist in highly sensitive and confidential matters related to player, umpire, and baseball personnel conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Support investigations into allegations related to performance-enhancing substances, sports gambling, domestic violence, off-field misconduct, and other violations of baseball rules and policies
  • Prepare timely reports of information gathered, presenting information in an organized and user-friendly format
  • Gather and analyze publicly available information, including government records, social media, and news reports
  • Monitor and develop alerts for relevant court filings and social media updates
  • Secure and preserve data and publicly available information
  • Prepare investigators for witness interviews
  • Review and analyze documents, including organizing documents on a document review platform
  • Perform related duties as required

Qualifications & Skills

  • Current undergraduate student (preferably junior or senior) or graduate student
  • Excellent research, writing and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage deliverables with time-sensitive deadlines
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish (oral and written)
  • While a demonstrated interest in legal studies is preferred, students in all majors are encouraged to apply

Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
