About The Company
The Family is a group of creative and professional services companies. We give agency founders the support they need to launch and grow their businesses. That's what family is for. The Family’s portfolio currently contains youth marketing agency Hype Collective, launched in 2017, and B2B communications agency Hard Numbers, launched in 2020. We’ll be welcoming new businesses to The Family in 2021 and 2022. There are three principal shareholders in The Family: Simon Lucey, Paul Stollery and Darryl Sparey.
About the Role

We are The Family Group, a young company building and investing in the next generation of brands for children and families. With our brands wyms and flygge, we develop products that accompany kids through important stages of growing up, combining great design with real functionality and uncompromising quality.

We are building our company hands-on, fast and with big ambitions. That means you won’t be watching from the sidelines. You will work directly with the founders and our team on the topics that actually move the business forward.

From e-commerce and operations to automation, processes and new projects, you will get a front-row seat to what it really takes to build and scale a consumer company.

Tasks

As a Founder’s Associate Intern, you will work closely with our founding team for 3–6 months and support us wherever you can create the most impact.

This is not a traditional internship. You will take ownership of your own projects, solve real problems and help us build better structures, smarter processes and stronger brands.

Some days will be strategic. Others will be deeply operational. Most will be both.

Work directly with the founders on strategic and operational projects

Take ownership of projects from initial idea to implementation

Help build and improve our e-commerce and operational processes

Identify inefficiencies and turn them into pragmatic, scalable solutions

Use AI, automation and new tools to make our organization smarter and faster

Support product launches and the continued growth of our brands

Analyze data, structure complex problems and turn insights into action

Jump into whatever matters most at that moment, even when there is no existing playbook

Requirements

We are not looking for the perfect CV. We are looking for someone who learns fast, takes ownership and gets things done.

You might be a great fit if you:

Are currently studying or between your Bachelor’s and Master’s degree

Think entrepreneurially and enjoy solving problems independently

Are analytical, structured and equally comfortable getting your hands dirty

Are excited about startups, consumer brands, e-commerce and technology

Actively use AI and new tools to work smarter and faster

Can quickly understand new and unfamiliar topics

Have high standards for your own work

Feel comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, processes and a certain level of startup chaos

Previous experience in a startup, consulting, venture capital, e-commerce or another fast-paced environment is a plus, but not a requirement.

Benefits

You won’t work next to the founding team. You’ll work with us.

From day one, you will get real responsibility and direct exposure to the decisions, challenges and opportunities involved in building and scaling a young company. You will work across topics that would be spread across multiple departments in a larger organization.

We move fast, keep decision-making short and give you the space to make things happen. If you have a good idea, we don’t want to discuss it for three weeks. We want to figure out how to make it happen.

Our standards are high, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We believe in friendship and real teamwork, constant progress and the willingness to attack ambitious goals together.
