Job DetailsJob Location: Great Place Construction - sioux falls, SD 57106Position Type: InternshipJob Category: ConstructionGPC is a private construction firm that specializes in commercial building projects.  We are looking for responsible individuals to join our team and gain experience in all aspects of the construction industry.   ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES – you come in on the ground floor, work for us and grow with us.   GPC is seeking interns to work both in the field and the office to learn from experienced construction managers.  We are looking for students or new graduates who want to grow in this industry! This is a chance for them to work for and experience the excitement of a growing company.   RESPONSIBILITIES FIELD: Hybrid work scenario with the goal being part  of the week spent on-site for hands on/technical training and some time working from home serving as assistant to superintendent as needed, this could be assisting in communication between subcontractors, assisting in interface with project management platform, assisting in managing superintendents schedule to enhance productivity, etc. OFFICE: Hybrid work/work from home with the goal being part  of the week spent engaged in project management/estimating training in person if/as needed depending on individual and their preference and/or best learning scenario. The balance of the week would be spent assisting the Project Manager with management of their schedule and/or additional duties relating to project/enterprise management.   Expectation of approximately 20 hours per week.   REQUIREMENTS General knowledge of commercial construction principles/practices, or desire to explore this industry as a potential career. Computer proficiency/familiarity with Microsoft office suite Desire to learn/advance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
