We are seeking a highly motivated and detailed oriented Business Banking Intern to join our team. As an Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in Small Business Banking, working closely

with our experienced Small Business Portfolio Manager to support the loan portfolio and assist with the renewal of maturing mortgages and lines of credit. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge, and network in the banking industry and may lead to future opportunities with the Bank.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:        

Commercial Mortgage and Line of Credit Renewals: Monitors dashboard daily to determine if

maturing lines of credit or term loans pass established benchmarks for renewal. Works with credit

officer, team lead, branch manager or small business lender based on determination and takes the

appropriate steps based on outcome.

Credit analysis and underwriting: Analyzing credit reports, reviewing loan documentation, ensuring

compliance with regulatory requirements.

Special projects: Participate in special projects, such as process improvements and   product development as assigned by the Business Banking Manager or Director of Credit Delivery.

 

 

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High School degree and actively working towards completion of a college degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
    • Ability to work with supervision to learn relationship management.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply judgement, take initiative, handle priorities, and work under general supervision.
    • Strong work habits, attention to detail, and teamwork.
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
