Job Description:

What’s the role

The Terminal Operations Internship role will support terminal operations, maintenance execution, project execution, HSSE reporting, and performance monitoring by assisting in documentation, tracking, and coordination activities.

  • Location: Shell Westport Terminal

  • Duration: 3 months (extendable depending on mutual agreement)

  • Expected Start Date: September 2026

What you’ll be doing

Operations Performance Monitoring

  • Track and report vessel discharge performance vs plan

  • Monitor gantry loading arm availability and downtime trends

  • Support tracking of:

    • Terminal storage gain/loss performance

    • Marine receipt gain/loss performance

  • Prepare weekly/monthly KPI summaries and dashboards

  • Highlight deviations, inconsistencies, and missing data

Maintenance Execution Support

  • Update and maintain GSAP PM work orders status

  • Upload and manage L1/L2 inspection work orders

  • Track and follow up on:

    • NOCO (Notification Completion)

    • TECO (Technical Completion)

  • Support tracking of L3 surveillance work order execution

  • Assist in monitoring maintenance backlog and overdue activities

  • Support updating and tracking of DGAME (Asset Management Processes) deliverables

  • Assist in preparation of PSSR SOF (Statement of Fitness) documentation

HSSE, Compliance & Assurance Support

  • Support LOD1 (internal assurance) checks documentation and tracking

  • Assist in security plan enforcement tracking and reporting

  • Support preparation of monthly HSSE meetings and MOM

  • Maintain proper filing for audits and compliance reviews

  • Support updating and tracking of UAA submissions

  • Support the tracking of incident reviews and reporting

Environmental & Regulatory Reporting

  • Collect, validate and consolidate data for:

    • CO₂ emissions reporting

    • VOC and Benzene reporting

    • Diesel consumption reporting

    • OPMIS reporting

  • Ensure data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness

  • Support submission tracking and record keeping

Road Transport & Dispatch Support

  • Provide support to TOA in road dispatch operations coordination

  • Assist in verifying dispatch documentation completeness

  • Track compliance gaps and support follow-up actions

  • Support monitoring of road transport operational performance

  • Support the road transport compliance spot check initiatives

Administrative & Coordination Support

  • Provide administrative support to STOA and operations team

  • Consolidate data from multiple stakeholders into reports (i.e. weekly terminal highlights)

  • Track MOC, STAT & Sphera action items and ensure timely updates

  • Support scheduling, documentation, and follow-up of meetings

Learning Opportunity:

  • End-to-end terminal operations (jetty, tank farm, gantry)

  • DGAME (asset management processes)

  • HSSE frameworks and compliance processes

  • Operational KPI tracking and performance analysis

  • Cross-functional coordination in terminal environment

This internship aims to support the closure of operational gaps, with a primary focus on documentation. The intern will provide administrative and technical support in the analysis, monitoring, and reporting of operational KPIs, and will contribute to the implementation of gap-closure initiatives and corrective actions.

What you bring

  • Currently pursuing a degree or a fresh graduate in any engineering discipline

  • With strong analytical skills and knowledge in MS Excel
