JOB TITLE:  

Data Assistant (Work Study) 

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION: 
  • Wyoming Natural Diversity Database (WYNDD) offers the most complete information for Wyoming's species and habitats of conservation concern
  • We serve federal and state agencies, consultants, and the public
  • WYNDD data, analyses, and staff expertise contribute to effective strategies of natural resource management and more efficient compliance with environmental regulations. 

Job location: Berry Center 315, Physical Sciences 339

Pay rate or range: $13.00/ hour

JOB PURPOSE:   

Help with biological research and data management   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Data entry, filing, sorting aquatic invertebrates, and other duties associated with research and data management for species and vegetation communities of conservation concern in Wyoming. Many duties will be in a lab that includes sorting aquatic insects, pinning pollinators and other invertebrate related research . Chance for summer employment as biological technician.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:  No experience necessary, just a willingness to work and attention to detail
Other requirements:  

Must be a current UW student

Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

An interest in wildlife, aquatic ecosystems, botany, and/or vegetation communities. All majors and backgrounds welcome.

WORK LOCATION: 

On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
