Work Schedule: up to 20 Hours per week, Tuesday-Saturday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Desired Length of Employment: Fall/Spring

Pay Rate: $12.00/hr

Job Description:

Assist Construction Manager and Director of Construction in the building of affordable single-family homes. Will need to prepare the job site for volunteers, supervise Habitat homeowners and other volunteers in construction tasks, deliver materials to the work site and other duties as assigned while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Must be able to assist with the physical work of the building process from assisting with framing to completing punch out items. Will need to be able to lift 50 pounds, work outdoors in all weather conditions, be physically able to stand and walk for the majority of the day as well as be able to walk and climb on uneven surfaces, climb ladders & stairs, bend, lift, grasp, push and pull materials to move them in and out of vehicles and around construction sites as well as operate power tools. This position requires that you be attentive, empathetic, collaborative, have harmonious interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with all constituents, including staff, partnering families, volunteers, business, religious and political communities. This is off-campus employment and reliable transportation is important. Must have a Driver's License and be able to work at least 2-3 hours blocks of time. The availability to work all day on Saturdays is a plus. MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL WORK STUDY.
