Departmental Overview

Compensation

  • $28 flat rate
  • 2 shifts/week
  • Evening differential $2.00/hr.
  • Night differential $2.50/hr.
  • Weekend differential $2.50/hr.

Our Surgical Unit has thirty two beds, we take care of patients with both surgical and nonsurgical conditions, we care for patients through the nursing process of assessment planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.  Furthermore, nurses collaborate with other healthcare professionals for best possible treatment of our patients. 


Job Summary

Job Summary

  • Performs duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act
  • Contributes to the development of a plan of care and follows through with such plan for selected patients
  • Administers medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy
  • Documents nursing care and activities
  • Assists with patient care and monitors patients during procedures
  • Assists the departmental assistant with clinical matters
  • Maintains the exam/treatment rooms and work environment
  • Assists with the training of other staff

Qualifications

Education

  • Completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse

Experience

  • Prefer previous hospital experience
  • Previous work history reflecting stable employment is necessary
  • If no work experience, will consider school attendance record and performance

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

 

Licensure/Certification.

  • Current Oklahoma State LPN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
