Established in 1981, Care Corner Singapore is a leading non-profit organisation providing social and health care services to build hope and promote well-being for those in need. With 46 service points across Singapore, we help children with special learning needs or from disadvantaged backgrounds, youths at risk, troubled families, vulnerable seniors, and individuals with counselling and mental health needs. About the Role

Internship (multiple roles across multiple teams)

Youth Worker Intern (YW)

Responsibilities include:

1. Assist in conceptualisation and planning of intervention groupwork programmes in schools for adolescents

2. Assist in engaging of adolescents in 1-1 setting and big group engagement to sieve out their needs, and steer them towards positive trajectory

3. Participate in data analysis and coming up with intervention strategy based on data sets

4. Partake in learning and development sessions with the service group

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

1. To attain a better understanding of adolescent needs in the school setting, in the community, and those who have offending behaviour

2. To acquire interpersonal facilitation skills in working with adolescents and families in the conduct of programmes

Intern (Family and Community Service)

Roles and Responsibilities for FSC Core Programme:

Casework & Counselling

  • To undertake enquiries and case intake in accordance with CSWP framework

  • To manage cases assigned closely by conducting regular sessions / intervention according to Care Corner Practice Frameworks.  

  • To maintain up to date Practice Documentation

Community Work

  • To work closely with Community Work team to deliver Community Work intervention to our community

Group Work

  • To support the Group Work team to deliver Children Lifeskill Group Work to the children in our service point

Others

  • To undertake and / assist any other responsibilities / duties / new projects as assigned by Centre Management.

Community Engagement and Volunteer Management Intern (VCE)

Responsibilities include:

Volunteer Recruitment and Deployment

Signature Volunteer Programmes Planning and Execution

Training & Curriculum Development

  • Assist with the preparation of training materials

  • Providing onsite support during training

Events Management

  • Provide support and assistance in preparation, execution and operations of events

Administrative duties

  • Includes, but not limited to collation of reports, maintaining volunteer database, upkeep of website and data entry, and any other work assigned by the supervisor
