About the Role

Finance_National Service Personnel

Job purpose

As a National Service Personnel within our Finance Department, you will support the delivery of finance and accounting services to the Firm. You will contribute to activities such as financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, cash management, compliance monitoring, and financial analysis, while gaining valuable insight into the financial operations of the Firm. You will also work closely with clients, internal teams, and other stakeholders to improve cash flow and overall financial performance. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and processing of invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial documents.
  • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, including payment tracking, reconciliations, and follow-up on outstanding balances.
  • Assist with cash management activities, including monitoring collections, recording receipts, and tracking cash flow movements.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, management reports, and other analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Support tax compliance activities, including the preparation of VAT, withholding tax (WHT), and other statutory filing schedules.
  • Help maintain accurate financial records and ensure that accounting documentation is properly filed and readily accessible.
  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Contribute to the monitoring of compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during internal and external audit engagements.
  • Participate in finance process improvement initiatives and undertake other duties as assigned by the Finance Lead.

Qualifications

  • Final-year university student from a recognised tertiary institution, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Expected CGPA of Second Class Upper or better.
  • Partial completion or commencement of a recognised professional accounting qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
