Job Title: Graduate Assistant (GA)

Department: Scranton Enrollment 

Reports to: Director/Associate Director of Enrollment 

Position Type: Half-Time (20 hours)

Duration:  Academic Year 2026-2027

Job Summary 

The Graduate Assistant (GA) supports faculty and staff in Scranton Enrollment with a variety of tasks related to research, teaching, and administrative duties. This role provides graduate students with valuable professional experience while they pursue their advanced studies. The GA collaborates closely with faculty and staff to help achieve departmental objectives, encourages academic involvement, and contributes to the success of departmental initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Departmental Support: Provide direct support to the Enrollment/Admissions team byassistingwith recruitment initiatives, campus visit programs, open houses, and enrollment events. Support daily admissions operations, including application processing, document tracking, and CRM updates.
  • Administrative Tasks: Help coordinate and support enrollment-related events such as open houses,accepted students’ day, recruitment fairs,etc. Maintainaccuratestudent records, reports, and enrollmentfiles,updatedatabasesand CRM systems.
  • Student Support/Collaboration: Assist with follow-up outreach to studentsregardingmissing documents, registration, and enrollment requirements.Assistwith scheduling appointments, campus tours, and meetings for enrollment staff.
  • Research/Data Support: Support survey distribution and data collection related to student recruitment and enrollment activities.
  • Communication and Outreach: Respond to general email and phone inquiries from prospective students and families.
  • Additional responsibilities related to department: Represent the Enrollment/Admissions office at on-campus and off-campus recruitment events asneeded. Participate in enrollment planning meetings and training opportunities. Complete special projects related to recruitment, outreach, or enrollment initiatives as assigned.
  • Other Duties Complete additional tasksassigned by the department, faculty, or supervisor that support professional development and academic goals. 
  • Peak Times Works during high impact periods, which include, but are not limited to annual forum, graduation, orientations, week prior to the start of the semester, first two weeks of the semester, last two weeks of the semester prior to finals, and advising periods.  

Qualifications 

  • Enrollment/accepted in a graduate program in Higher Education, Organizational Leadership & Management, Professional Studies, or MBA 
  • Strong academic standing. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
