About the Role

Position: Wellness Aide

Purpose or role of the position: To support the efforts and initiatives of the Counseling, Health, and Wellness Office, including, but not limited to, the programs and services provided by the Health and Wellness Center by creating a clean and supportive environment, providing educational postings and bulletin boards, and offering outreach and advocacy.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support Initiatives and programs for the Counseling, Health, and Wellness Office.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe atmosphere for students, faculty, and staff. 
  • Assist with day- to -day functions of the office. 
  • Assist with filing, organizing, spreadsheet, management, etc.
  • Housekeeping to maintain cleanliness of the center/
  • Perform research and create resource information materials for the HWC office.
  • Provide support for various projects, assignments, and tasks as directed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve problems with discretion and professionalism.
  • Staffing during student events, which may include some evening or weekend hours.
  • Assistance in the development of event postings and materials.
  • Creating and installing bulletin boards.
  • Maintaining office inventory, cleaning, and sanitation standards of the HWC.
  • Posting on all bulletin boards throughout he University.
  • Filling and maintaining hygiene baskets in the women's restrooms.
  • Provide information to students through classroom visits or tabling events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Credentials and Abilities: 

  • Maintain current and active enrollment status during terms of employment
  • Maintain a 2.5 minimum cumulative GPA
  • Commit to 8 hours of employment per week with scheduled consistency.
  • Have positive relationships with other students on campus.
  • Practice sound judgement and be able to  learn new things and skills quickly.
  • Demonstrate maturity and self-motivation.
  • Work with minimum supervision when required to do so.
  • Work with diverse populations.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Be creative and have solid knowledge of Canva and social media platforms.
  • Possesses no standing judicial sanctions or no-contact orders that extend through the dates of employment.
  • Human service or medical related course study preferred.
