We are looking for an extracurricular intern within the Campania Engineering Center, at Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace company. As Intern - Turbine Design Engineer you will work as part of an integrated global team. You will contribute to the design, development and field sustain of Turbine Modules. The activities will be focused on Life of Cycle of products support, from manufacturing and field perspective.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lean how to work on CAD models and drawings

  • Perform structural and fracture mechanics analyses in support of MRB, DR dispositions, producibility and cost-out projects

  • Support manufacturing shop to improve producibility of components for which he has design responsibility

  • Proactively support and contribute to the coordination of activities with other Company departments (Program management, Sourcing, Quality and Global Supply Chain)

  • Learn how to interface with Customers and Suppliers in order to implement product improvements (e.g. concurrent design, cost-out activities)

  • Communicate with the team to improve collaboration and eliminate waste. Share information and promote open dialogue.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering (Aeronautical/Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred)

  • Passion for technical excellence and technology advancement

  • Self-directed and motivated

  • Open mindset and strong team player

  • Clear thinking and diligent approach

  • Fluent English and Italian

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with CAD/CAE tools

  • Good knowledge of Turbine Modules and components

  • Creativity and curiosity

  • Capable of working in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience

  • Analytical thinking skills

  • System mindset and problem solver
