Forum Asset Management – Intern, IT (Fall 2026) 8 month OR 4 month
Location: In-Office, 181 Bay Street, Toronto
Work Schedule: Full-time, in-office (5 days/week) from September 2026
About Forum:
Delivering Extraordinary Outcomes™ through Investment.
Forum Asset Management is a North American investor, developer, and asset manager with a 29-year track record of delivering long-term value through real estate, private equity, and infrastructure investments. We are a purpose-driven firm committed to sustainability, responsible investing, and making a positive impact in the communities where we invest.
With over $3 billion in AUM, Forum is one of Canada's most dynamic investment platforms. In 2024, we completed the country’s largest real estate transaction through our acquisition of Alignvest Student Housing, making us the largest owner and developer of Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) in Canada. Our open-ended Real Estate Income and Impact Fund (REIIF) is now over $2.4 billion, backed by a $3.5 billion development pipeline that spans coast to coast.
Forum is also building one of the fastest-growing self-storage platforms in Canada, focused on acquiring, developing, and operating institutional-grade storage facilities in undersupplied urban markets.
Position Overview:
Forum Asset Management is seeking an IT Intern to support day-to-day IT operations across the firm.. Based in our Toronto office and reporting to the IT Support Technician, this role will be a key member of the IT team and will contribute to keeping Forum’s people equipped, secure, and productive, with direct exposure to the AI and automation projects shaping how the firm operates.
Forum’s IT function runs lean today: a single-person operation backed by an external MSP (TomDotCom). That means you won’t be shadowing, you’ll be running real tickets, real projects, and real process improvements from week one, with room to shape how IT support works as Forum scales.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day IT tickets in the ConnectWise/Jira queue, helping resolve routine hardware, software, and account requests, and flagging anything complex.
- Help get new hires set up for day one: assist with laptop, account, and access provisioning for onboarding and offboarding, coordinating with People & Culture.
- Support hardware and asset management: image devices, help maintain the laptop/phone/peripheral inventory, and assist with repair and warranty coordination through our MSP.
- Assist with Microsoft 365/Entra tasks under direction, including mailbox setup, license assignment, distribution lists, and signature updates.
- Help build out documentation: contribute to SOPs and knowledge base articles so Forum's IT processes are easy for anyone to follow.
- Support ticketing accuracy by helping with the daily ConnectWise-to-Jira sync and assisting with the IT service metrics dashboard and reporting.
- Help monitor for phishing and spam, flagging anything suspicious rather than resolving it independently.
- Support Forum's AI and automation pilots - genuine priority work for the firm, not a side task.
Candidate Profile:
- Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, IT, or related co-op program.
- Comfortable working across both Windows and Mac environments, with a working knowledge of M365 administration and basic networking concepts.
- Genuinely curious about AI tools and automation. This is weighed heavily in how Forum evaluates technical hires.
- A clear, confident writer who can turn a technical fix into a process someone non-technical can follow.
- Professional and steady under pressure, with good judgment about when to solve something and when to flag it.
- A self-starter who notices what needs fixing before being asked and isn’t afraid to suggest a better way of doing things.
Invest in Yourself:
- Compensation – We are committed to supporting your success and are offering a salary range of $750-1000/week CAD for this position.
- Learning and Development Opportunities – We believe in Best Idea Wins and foster an entrepreneurial environment where your input has real impact.
- Diverse & Inclusive Team – We celebrate diverse perspectives and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of equity and inclusion.
- Quarterly All Teams – Sessions with your colleagues across the business to share insights, celebrate success, and spotlight culture.
- Lunch & Learns – Regular opportunities to connect, learn, and exchange knowledge with peers across the business.
