What You'll Receive
As an NMC Cat CO-OP Student, you'll gain much more than classroom experience.
Our sponsorship program includes:
- Paid tuition for an approved Diesel Technology program

What You'll Do
While attending school, you'll combine classroom learning with hands-on experience at NMC Cat.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Work alongside experienced technicians diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment.
- Assist with inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in both shop and field environments.
- Learn Caterpillar systems, diagnostics, and industry-leading repair techniques.
- Participate in technical training and professional development opportunities.
- Develop safe work habits while following company policies and procedures.
- Represent NMC Cat professionally at work, school, and within your community.
- Build the skills and experience needed to become a successful Caterpillar Service Technician.
What We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
- Have earned your high school diploma (or will graduate prior to program start).
- Plan to enroll, or are currently enrolled, in an NMC-approved Diesel Technology program.
- Have strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through school, hobbies, work experience, or personal projects.
- Enjoy solving problems and working with your hands.
- Work well independently and as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively and demonstrate professionalism.
- Have basic computer skills.
- Have a strong attendance record and positive attitude.
- Intend to pursue a long-term career with NMC Cat after graduation.

Program Expectations
Students selected for the sponsorship program are expected to:
- Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- Make satisfactory progress toward graduation within 24 months.
- Successfully complete both classroom and workplace learning requirements.
