About the Role

Nurse Extern II

Job Type: PRN | Varied

Schedule: Varied shifts depending on department (Days or Nights), Work approximately 4 shifts per month, Available for a minimum of 4 shifts per month (2 of which are weekend shifts), 1 major holiday and 1 minor holiday required per year

How you’ll contribute 

Nurse Extern who excels in this role:

  • Performs direct patient care under the direction, delegation and supervision of a registered nurse.

  • Maintains positive professional relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and health care team.

  • Focus on growing skills in patient assessment.

  • Learn and perform proper quality focused charting.

  • Understand and improve time management skills as a caregiver.

  • Serve as a patient monitor for Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCT).

  • Able to perform all skills on your skills checklist from your nursing program!

     

What we’re looking for 

Applicants should be currently enrolled in nursing school and in their third semester of the program. Additional requirements include:

  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire

  • Required Skills: Strong critical thinking skills and sound judgment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while taking appropriate action.
