Job Description:

The opportunity

During this internship you will support the efficient management of purchase orders, supplier administration, invoice processing, and budget tracking activities for the Europe Communications & Government Relations (CGR) function. The role is critical in ensuring that external engagements, including events, agency contracts, memberships, media relations activities, advocacy projects, sponsorships, and consultancy support can be processed efficiently and in compliance with Hitachi Energy policies and procedures. The position offers valuable exposure to communications, government relations, procurement processes, event management, and budget administration within a global corporate environment.

How you'll make an impact

  • Create and track purchase orders, making sure all required data and documents are complete, accurate and up to date.

  • Follow up with suppliers and internal teams to ensure invoices and payments stay on schedule.

  • Support supplier onboarding and management of vendor contracts, agreements, and other related documents.

  • Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, reports, and monthly budget reviews.

  • Support administrative processing and timely payments for conferences, events, memberships, sponsor-ships, public affairs programs, media relations agencies and consultancies. 

  • Maintain process documentation, support rollout of new processes, and suggest simpler ways of working where improvements can be made.

  • Learn to use SAP S/4HANA software and other IT tools.


Your background

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Communications, International Relations or a related field, graduating in 2027 or later.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills. 

  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Comfortable working with numbers and financial data. 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. 

  • Interest in developing stakeholder management skills. 

  • Fluent English required; additional European languages are a plus.
