About The Company
QD develops and deploys world-leading quantum sensing technologies and tools for the failure analysis and metrology of a new generation of semiconductor chips, enabling innovation within the heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging era. In close collaboration with leading customers across the globe, our expert teams of quantum physicists, engineers, and data scientists design metrology tools that move the industry forward.
About the Role

Description

QuantumDiamonds is looking for a sharp, driven Founders Associate Intern (m/f/d) to work directly alongside our founders in the CEO Office and help run one of Europe's most exciting deep-tech startups. This is not a support role at the edge of the action. You'll sit at the center of it, taking on the projects that matter most to the company at any given moment, from strategy and operations to fundraising prep, business development, and internal process building.

Your work will have real impact: our product and our whole company are evolving at breakneck speed, and we need someone who can take a messy problem, structure it, and drive it to a result. One week you might be building a financial model or preparing an investor update, the next you're untangling an operational bottleneck or take on responsibility to ship a tool to a Asia. This is a rare opportunity for a generalist who wants genuine responsibility, broad exposure to how a company is actually built, and a front-row seat next to the founders. If you are ambitious, hands on, and want to learn faster than anywhere else, this is the right role for you.

Who we are

Founded in 2022 as a spin-off of TU Munich, QD leverages quantum sensors to rapidly capture three-dimensional current maps within multi-layer chips. Our strong, international team of over 70, including physicists, engineers, data scientists, and other experts, works side by side with major semiconductor manufacturers, supporting chip debugging and accelerating yield analysis. Backed by top-tier deep tech investors, semiconductor experts, and strategic public programs, we have ensured long-term stability, shifting from breakthrough to scale, and shaping the next chapter in chip testing.

Why join us?

Picture this:
  • Quantum sensors that see inside the most advanced chips on Earth, right where two frontier fields collide.
  • Nobel-Prize physics aimed at real customers with real problems, in production now, not someday.
  • Physicists, data scientists, and engineers building side by side, turning deep science into tools the industry actually runs on.
  • An international team that runs at hard problems for fun, where knowledge moves fast and so do you.
Still unsure about why joining us?
  • You'll get to build a company together with a brilliant and welcoming team on a product that has never been done before.
  • From Day 1, you'll own your own topics end to end and see the direct impact of your work on how QuantumDiamonds runs and grows.
  • Our technology is the cutting edge of tomorrow, starting today and not in 10 years.
  • Sitting in the CEO Office, you'll have real responsibility, a voice that counts, and the chance to shape how we operate as we scale.
  • You'll be part of a high-growth company backed by top-tier investors.
Let's see what others can't!

What will you do

Most importantly: Jump on whatever matters most right now, acting as a flexible right hand to the founders on high-priority topics.
  • Take full ownership of cross-functional projects that land on the founders' desk, from framing the problem to delivering the result.
  • Prepare board and investor materials, updates, and presentations, and support fundraising and reporting processes end to end.
  • Build structure where there is none by designing and improving internal processes, tools, and workflows as we scale.
  • Build financial models, dashboards, and business cases to support key decisions.
  • Partner directly with technical, commercial, and leadership teams (including the CEO) to move priorities forward and unblock the team.
  • Support hiring and organizational topics, helping us attract and onboard the talent we need to grow.

What is expected of you

  • Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field, ideally with strong academic results.
  • Excellent structured thinking and problem-solving skills: you can break down ambiguous problems and drive them to a result.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with numbers, data, and tools like Excel and slides.
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
  • An ownership mentality: you take initiative, drive topics end to end, and want real responsibility and influence rather than just supporting others.
  • A hands-on attitude and genuine comfort working in a fast-paced startup where priorities evolve quickly.
  • An interest in deep tech, science, or hard technology businesses, plus the curiosity to learn how a company is really built.
  • First experience in consulting, VC, startups, or a founder's team is a plus, but not a must.
  • Curiosity, resourcefulness, and enthusiasm for learning.

Our benefits

  • Mission: At QD, we're driven by more than just building great products, we aim to make a lasting difference. Joining us means contributing to meaningful work that goes beyond business as usual.
  • Impact & growth: This is an exciting stage of our journey, and your voice matters. You'll have the chance to shape our culture, influence key decisions, and grow alongside a company that's scaling fast.
  • Health & fitness: With a company-sponsored Wellpass membership, you'll have access to countless gyms, classes, and wellness offers across Germany to stay healthy and active.
  • Team & culture: We believe the best ideas come when we connect outside the office. From regular off-sites to team events, you'll be part of a collaborative and supportive environment.

About us

QuantumDiamonds GmbH, headquartered in Munich, Germany, develops and manufactures semiconductor inspection systems based on quantum sensing. Spun out of the Technical University of Munich in 2022, the company uses nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond to map electrical current with micrometer precision inside advanced 2.5D and 3D chip architectures. Nine of the world's ten largest semiconductor manufacturers are engaged with QuantumDiamonds, with systems deployed across Europe, the United States, and Asia. The company is investing €152 million to build the world's first production facility for quantum sensing-based semiconductor inspection tools, supported under the European Chips Act.
