About the Role

Wage - $17.99 an hour

Position Summary:

Reports to facility maintenance manager or designee. Responsible for the completion of a wide variety of tasks to include keeping assigned areas clean and orderly in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions:

1. Maintain and preserve all flooring and/or covering by scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing and

sweeping surface.

2. Clean and sanitizes restrooms and associated fixtures.

3. Wash walls, windows, ceilings and woodwork. Dusts desks, bookshelves, cabinets and other office furniture.

4. Collect and dispose of all trash, litter, and other debris on grounds, streets and parking lots. Sweep and clean exterior steps, entrances, landings and sidewalks.

5. Use basic cleaning compounds, waxes and disinfectants as provided by supervision.

6. Maintain center appearance and preserve all improved grounds by cleaning, weeding, mowing,

trimming, sprinkling, fertilizing, reseeding or planting. Maintain all trees or shrubs by pruning, trimming and spraying.

7. Participate in student employability programs and activities.

8. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.

9. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.

10. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.

11. Participate in student employability programs and activities.

12. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.

13. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.

14. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.

15. Cultivate and maintain a climate on center which is free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
