About The Company
Horizon Project Inc. was founded in 1977 by a group of local citizens in Milton-Freewater with a goal to enable adults with developmental disabilities to participate in out of home activities. Over the past 40 years, Horizon has grown geographically and functionally to become the largest single provider of residential and employment supports to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Today our service professionals provide comprehensive community services in Milton-Freewater, Pendleton, and Hermiston. We serve people in smaller surrounding communities and in parts of unincorporated Umatilla County.
About the Role

Description

Location: Hermiston, OR
Schedule: Part-time. Must be available during STEP Center operating hours of Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM.

Pay: $16/hr


Description:

Horizon Project, Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable STEP Center & Office Intern to support both our STEP Center for Independent Living. The STEP Center provides hands on and interactive support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position requires supervised interaction with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group settings but the intern does not perform direct care for clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning STEP Center activities, projects, and outings
  • Provide administrative support as needed (making copies, filing, etc.)
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional communication
  • Work cooperatively with staff, clients, and the public
  • Follow safety procedures and organizational policies

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to get to work on time, reliably
  • Must pass an Oregon Criminal Background Check by ODHS
  • Must pass a drug test
  • Must be under the age of 18
  • Must be able to communicate in English
