About The Role 

As an Advanced Analytics, Data Science and Computer Engineering Intern, you will be part of FTI Consulting’s Data and Analytics team within the Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice, which assists clients through business critical events across: 

  • Dispute Advisory 

  • Risk & Investigations 

  • Regulatory and Litigation Support 

 

What You’ll Do 

As a Graduate, working on client matters under the supervision of senior members of the team, your responsibilities will involve: 

  • Assisting with the ingestion, structuring and analysis of large and complex datasets used in disputes, investigations and regulatory matters 

  • Assisting with the development of analytical scripts, models or data pipelines using Python, SQL or related tools 

  • Supporting exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies and insights across structured and unstructured data 

  • Assisting with the testing, validation or refinement of analytical workflows, data processes or software components 

  • Undertaking basic technical research across data sources, systems or methodologies relevant to engagements 

  • Reviewing datasets, system outputs or documents and summarising findings in a clear and structured way

  • Learn from senior management in the team and work on large multi-jurisdictional engagements around the world 

  • Exposure to our wide-ranging client base, including lawyers, corporates, government regulators, and banks. 

  • Strong knowledge of the legal process, especially regarding litigation, fraud and compliance issues. 

  • The opportunity to participate in business development and marketing activities  

  • You will be part of our Graduate Development Program – a learning curriculum designed to support your development 

 

What You’ll Need to Succeed 

  • Foundational programming skills, preferably in Python 

  • Basic understanding of data structures, databases or analytical concepts 

  • Interest in research, experimentation and building technical solutions from first principles 

  • Curiosity about how systems, data and software interact in real-world environments 

  • Demonstrated flexibility in approaching problems and changing priorities 

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • Computer literacy with developing technical and analytical capability 

  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal  

  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
