Job Description:

The Role: EHS Intern 

As an EHS Intern, you will support the EHS Engineer in executing both routine and ad-hoc environmental, health, and safety activities. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience and help you fulfill your academic requirements while contributing meaningfully to the team. 

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Assist in day-to-day EHS operations and administrative tasks. 

  • Support the implementation of site Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs. 

  • Help ensure internal performance metric reports are accurate and submitted on time. 

  • Participate in EHS assessments such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Ergonomic Assessments, and more. 

  • Assist in the execution of the Industrial Hygiene Program, including SDS management, labeling, signage, chemical inventory, and monitoring. 

  • Support the implementation of the Site Emergency Response Plan. 

  • Participate in internal and external EHS inspections, audits, and Gemba walks. 

  • Coordinate and organize EHS promotional activities such as campaigns, talks, and roadshows. 

  • Assist in conducting EHS-related training for employees, visitors, and contractors. 

  • Help manage and monitor EHS modules within the ETQ system. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the management. 

 

What We Seek: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related field. 

  • Minimum CGPA of 3.00 and above. 

  • Minimum internship duration of 24 weeks. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels. 

  • Good communication skills in both Malay and English, written and verbal. 

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, accountability, and appreciation for workforce diversity. 

  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative; able to plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. 

  • Able to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments. 

  • Results-driven, persistent, and confident in taking on challenges. 

 

Outstanding Candidates Will Have: 

  • Prior exposure to EHS-related projects or coursework. 

  • Familiarity with EHS management systems or tools. 

  • Passion for promoting a safe and sustainable workplace.
