Position Overview/Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Outreach Coordinator Intern to support our clinical research team in assisting with participant recruitment. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in clinical research operations, healthcare communications, and patient engagement while working alongside experienced clinical research professionals.

The ideal candidate is passionate about healthcare, public health, medicine, or clinical research and enjoys interacting with diverse communities to help connect individuals with meaningful research opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing outreach strategies to increase awareness of ongoing clinical research studies. 
  • Respond to participant inquiries and provide accurate information regarding clinical studies. 
  • Maintain outreach databases and track recruitment metrics. 
  • Ensure all outreach activities comply with HIPAA, institutional policies, and ethical research standards. 
  • Support participant recruitment efforts through community outreach, educational events, social media, and digital communication.
  • Assist patients with their needs and/or personal needs.
  • Observe HIPAA for the protection of patient privacy.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Clinical Operations Department andassistanceto the Clinical Trial.
  • Must acquire ICH-GCP knowledge and training as part of onboarding and on an ongoing basis throughout employment

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities. 
  • Comfortable speaking with patients and community members. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. 
  • Strong attention to detail and professionalism. 

Preferred

  • If in college, currently pursuing a Bachelor's in:
  • Public Health 
  • Biology 
  • Health Sciences 
  • Nursing 
  • Communications 
  • Psychology 
  • Marketing 
  • Healthcare Administration 
  • Or a related field
  • High School Diploma (Unless in high school currently this is not needed)
  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Passionate about improving healthcare through research 
  • Friendly, outgoing, and community-oriented 
  • Organized and dependable 
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced environment 
  • Curious, eager to learn, and proactive in solving problems
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing. 
  • Knowledge of HIPAA or Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is a plus but not required.
