Brief Description

Legal intern to manage the confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement (CDA) request mailbox, and to perform other functions in support of UBC Legal, UBC Contracts, UBC Privacy. 

 

Specific job duties:

  • Monitor confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement (CDA) request mailbox and respond within 18 to 24 hours
  • Transmit Company template or review and mark-up other party’s template, all based upon approved Company CDA playbook and CDA template
  • Escalate CDA review and mark-up to 3 attorney Legal Team as needed
  • Able to manage 90+% of CDA request mailbox with minimal supervision
  • Additional responsibilities may include providing support to Company Legal Team and Contracts Team (non-attorney Work Order scriveners), in such volume and complexity as demonstrated capabilities and level of judgment may warrant.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor Candidate: 2nd Year or 3rd Year 
  • Superior knowledge of the law of contracts
  • History and comfort working in a dynamic corporate law or law firm environment grounded in a culture of quality, efficiency and accountability 


Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Privacy Laws (e.g., GDPR and HIPAA) a plus
