Internship Program Highlights:

In this role you will:  

Travel is so much more than simply reaching your destination. Along the journey, you'll utilize your technical skills in our agile environment to develop next-generation technologies through our web applications and e-commerce sites. You will be empowered to make an immediate impact by creating high-volume, scalable solutions and work with teams to iterate on features quickly and efficiently. From the back-end supply and database functions to new user interfaces for more than 140 branded travel sites, there is no shortage of opportunity for technical innovation at Expedia Group.    

• Design, implement, and test security-focused software components and services under the guidance of more experienced security engineers, contributing to well-scoped features that enhance the security posture of Expedia Group’s systems. 

• Deploy and manage applications and services in multi-cloud infrastructure. 

• Develop clean, maintainable code that follows secure coding practices, including use of input validation, proper authentication and authorization patterns, and adherence to standard security guidelines. 

• Participate in low-level system design, API design, and data modeling with a security lens, helping translate security and privacy requirements into technical solutions for services and applications. 

• Assist in identifying, reproducing, and fixing security vulnerabilities or misconfigurations by applying fundamental data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving techniques. 

• Collaborate with security, software engineering, and infrastructure teams to understand requirements, review designs, and support implementation of security controls, monitoring, and guardrails across services and platforms. 

• Learn and work with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows used for security (such as anomaly detection, automated triage, or secure coding assistants), including safely integrating and operating AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve detection, prevention, and response outcomes.  

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Must be available to commit to the full program dates: 

• APAC: May / June 2026

• Must be graduating with an undergraduate or master’s degree in a technical subject (e.g. e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology etc.) between December 2027 and July 2028 

• Must be willing to relocate to city of job location if outside commuting distance  

• Must commit to full-time hours every week for the duration of the internship. 

• Must be graduating from university in the same country of internship location  

• Must have no more than 2 years of professional experience in a similar role  

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Helpful to be familiar with basic concepts of at least one programming or scripting language (e.g. Java, C/C++, Python, C#)     

• Helpful to have knowledge of data structures, algorithms and OOP concepts   

• Helpful to have effective communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of partners (e.g., internal, external, technical, non-technical people)  

• Helpful to have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail 

• Helpful to have knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS and DNS 

• Helpful to understand operating system concepts, particularly Linux and Windows 

• Helpful to be familiar with authentication and authorization concepts
