The Hatch Vacation Student Program provides the opportunity to work on real projects and gain practical industry skills. We will help you through the transition, bridging the gap between your education and career.

 

As part of the Tailings team, you will assist with current and exciting future project requirements and opportunities. You will be able to further your career both liaising with and learning from a diverse range of people. In this role, you will provide engineering investigation, design and construction support services in the areas of mine tailings management and water dams.

You bring to the role:

You will be working towards a bachelor/master’s degree in Structural/Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, ideally in your third year (or later) of study, with a strong academic record. Candidates will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and will be collaborators with the ability to think laterally and innovatively to solve problems. You will also have an interest in exploring a future with a global consulting company and are committed to creating positive change.

 

The 12-week program commences on Monday, 23 Nov 2026Please note, during this time Hatch will have its annual office closure from COB Friday, 18 December 2026 and will reopen Monday, 4 January 2027.
