About The Company
InSpacePropulsion Technologies (ISPTech) is a Spin-Off of the Institute of Space Propulsion at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Current space propulsion systems offer either low cost or a high reliability. With our solutions – based on thousands of hot firing tests at DLR’s facilities – we can serve both worlds: offering low costs with high performance and high reliability. Our two technologies are suitable for all spacecraft sizes and classes – ranging from cubesats to large satellites, capsules or landers. No matter, if you are a NewSpace player, a large satellite integrator or an institutional organisation, we will offer the right propulsion solution for your specific application.
About the Role

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct hardware functionality tests on printed circuit boards, document results, and recommend improvements. Including integrated tests with propulsion systems and thrusters.
  • Assist in harness design, cable assembly, and ensure reliable connections for test benches, prototype systems and flight hardware.
  • Develop and run test cases for firmware, troubleshoot software issues, and validate functionality against requirements.
  • Participate in small-scale PCB layout and design modifications, working with ECAD tools.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of hardware and firmware components.

Your Qualification

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering,Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on mentality; comfortable with practical tasks and eager to explore new fields.
  • Basic understanding of embedded systems engineering principles (hardware and firmware).
  • Basic knowledge in at least one programming language (e.g., C/C++, Python).
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PCB design software (e.g., Altium, KiCad) is advantageous.
  • Motivated, proactive, and willing to learn quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Our Benefits

  • Flexible working time
  • Combination of working in the office, at home, and on the go
  • Professional skills development through a broad base of responsibilities and freedom
  • You will be an integral part of current projects and work directly with the engineering team
  • An exciting work environment encompassing the whole process from the development, building and launch of space propulsion systems
  • Engage directly and actively participate in the end-to-end development processes of an expandingNew-Space start-up

About us

Space business is booming: the space market is growing rapidly, new market segments are opening, and disruptive changes are taking place. As consequence of this rapid growth, the number of satellites and spacecraft is strongly increasing – and each spacecraft needs a propulsion system to perform its specific task.

Here ISPTech’s propulsion technologies come into the play. Based on more than 10 years of research and development work at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), ISPTech’s founders developed propulsion technologies that work with green (non-toxic) propellants. Our propulsion systems are characterized by a high efficiency, reliability and allow significant cost reductions.

By using these advanced propulsion technologies, ISPTech will satisfy the desperate demand for affordable, green and robust propulsion technologies and propel the whole Space ecosystem.

ISPTech’s relevance for the NewSpace market is backed by renowned deep tech investors (HTGF, Join Captial, Faber VC, First Momentum, Possible Ventures and others). We recently closed a €5.5M seed round.
