The opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and curious engineering intern to support our Product Excellence team in the area of surge arresters, metal oxide (MO) varistors, and high-voltage protection products. This internship offers the opportunity to work on real-world engineering challenges related to international standards, product qualification, testing, simulations, and technical documentation.
Depending on business priorities and the candidate's interests, the internship project will focus on one or more topics from a portfolio of ongoing development and qualification activities.
How you'll make an impact
Analyzing and comparing international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, CIGRE recommendations) and assessing their impact on product design and testing requirements
Supporting product qualification and requalification projects for surge arresters and metal oxide varistors, including simulations related to environmental and electrical performance testing
Evaluating testing strategies, including the possibility of harmonizing qualification testing across different standards
Assisting with laboratory test planning, execution, and analysis
Developing engineering calculation tools and templates to support product design and qualification activities
Creating and maintaining technical documentation, reports, and engineering guidelines
Analyzing test data and preparing technical conclusions and recommendations
Investigating emerging industry requirements and proposed standard revisions
Collaborating with product management, engineering, testing laboratories, and standards experts
Your background
Currently enrolled in an MSc program in Electrical Engineering
Experience with Python, Matlab, and Electromagnetic Transients Program (EMTP)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Collaborative and proactive working style
Fluent written and spoken English
