Job Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor OEM warranty systems and retrieve warranty information relevant to Mechatronics products and commodities, preparing analysis reports under guidance
  • Assist in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting warranty data from OEM databases to identify trends, anomalies, and potential quality concerns
  • Analyze, document, and escalate unusual trends, claim activity, or returned parts findings to the Warranty team under guidance
  • Prepare warranty reports and presentations for internal reviews and customer meetings as required
  • Retrieve and compile relevant OEM warranty and claim data to support customer returned parts reviews and investigations
  • Document all returned parts accurately within the internal Returned Parts Database
  • Coordinate returned parts processing activities, ensuring parts are received, tracked, tested, and properly closed within established timelines
  • Assist in documenting test results and findings for returned parts in the internal Returned Parts Database
  • Submit and maintain returned parts test results in OEM returned parts systems and databases under guidance
  • Coordinate the ordering and receipt of returned parts from OEM customers
  • Support Advanced Quality Engineers (AQE), Program Managers (PM), and Plant Quality teams in investigating and resolving warranty and returned parts issues
  • Assist with returned parts disposition activities and ensure timely responses are entered into OEM systems as required
  • Support the implementation and launch of the new Power App Warranty Management System
  • Assist with the migration, validation, and maintenance of returned parts and warranty data from the legacy Lotus Notes system to the new Power App platform
  • Support projects focused on the development, enhancement, and continuous improvement of warranty systems, databases, and procedures
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with company policies, procedures, and workplace standards as outlined in the employee handbook
  • Comply with Magna's Code of Conduct and Ethics, as well as all applicable compliance policies and requirements
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Salary Range: $18.90 to $25.46 per hour

Vacancy Status: New Co-op student position, 4 month contract starting August/September 2026

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, Quality, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Less than one (1) year of related work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI and Python scripting is considered an asset
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlineS
  • Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good mechanical aptitude and an interest in automotive quality, warranty, and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated professionalism, diplomacy, tact, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information
  • Results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and a high level of accuracy in all work performed
  • Able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with changing priorities
