Position Summary
GPS Solutions is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to support our growing recruiting efforts. This internship provides hands-on experience in talent acquisition while working with public charter schools and educational organizations throughout Michigan. The ideal candidate is interested in a career in Human Resources and enjoys interacting with people, organizing information, and helping connect great candidates with meaningful careers.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical HR experience while learning the full recruitment lifecycle.
Essential Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)
- Post and manage job openings on ADP Workforce Now, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, and other recruiting platforms.
- Source qualified candidates using job boards, social media, and professional networking sites.
- Review resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
- Conduct initial phone screenings using established interview guides.
- Schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Communicate professionally with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Track candidate activity within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Assist with employment offers and pre-employment documentation.
- Help maintain candidate pipelines for future openings.
Human Resources Support
- Assist with onboarding new employees.
- Prepare recruiting reports and hiring metrics.
- Help organize electronic personnel files.
- Support recruiting events, job fairs, and college career fairs.
- Assist with special HR projects as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and applicant information.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Human Resources
- Business Administration
- Management
- Psychology
- Communications
- Related field
- Strong interest in Human Resources and recruiting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with LinkedIn, Indeed, or social media recruiting is a plus.
- Previous customer service or office experience preferred but not required.
