About The Company
EmployIndy, the Workforce Investment Board for Marion County, Indiana, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and operator of the one-stop system in Marion County. Since 1983, EmployIndy has administered hundreds of millions of dollars in federal, state, local, and private funds to support workforce development initiatives for diverse populations. Securing over 20 government and private grants in recent years to augment its one-stop services, EmployIndy has an annual budget of more than $17 million. It successfully provides fiscal management, monitoring, data collection, and reporting for all funding sources; oversees contracts with more than 30 providers who deliver services to approximately 550 businesses and 2,500 people annually; and assists more than 40,000 Indianapolis residents each year through its network of one-stop centers and special initiatives. EmployIndy guides the local workforce ecosystem and makes strategic investments to remove barriers to quality employment for Marion County residents. The vision for EmployIndy is clear: for all Marion County residents to have access to services and training necessary to secure a livable wage and grow in a career that meets employer demand for talent.


The Business Partnerships Intern provides administrative and project-based support to the Business Partnerships team, gaining exposure to employer engagement and workforce development. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administrative  support for Business Partnerships team. Including managing of calendars and program schedules – 25%
  • CRM  Management and Data Entry – 25%
  • Managing  special projects as assigned for Business Partnerships Team to include  employer events and reporting – 15%
  • Management  of Indiana Career Connect Requests – 10%
  • Collaborate  with internal teams (e.g., career services, training, communications) to  ensure successful delivery of services and alignment of employer needs with  available solutions.- 10%
  • Community  Engagement & Storytelling: Represent EmployIndy at community events,  business forums, and workforce-related initiatives to elevate organizational  visibility. Capture and share success stories from employer partnerships with  the communications team to support broader outreach and impact storytelling. -15%
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned. 

Requirements

The following qualifications represent the minimum requirements to competently perform the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses, certifications, or other knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.

  • High School  Diploma required; equivalent experience will be considered. Some college level  coursework preferred 
  • Familiarity with workforce development,  economic development, or related industries is a plus.
