Job Description

Become part of our team and help shape the future of automotive communication technologies. You will work on innovative topics related to Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV), Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Ethernet communication, and emerging networking technologies for next-generation automotive E/E architectures.

  • During your internship you will contribute to innovative Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), demonstrators, and exploratory studies related to automotive networking technologies and software-defined vehicle architectures.
  • You will analyze and evaluate emerging technologies, including Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), Ethernet communication, Remote Control Protocols, DDS-based communication concepts, and future automotive networking trends.
  • Furthermore, you will design, implement, and validate demonstrator applications that showcase innovative communication concepts and their benefits for automotive customers and ecosystem partners.
  • You will perform benchmarking, measurements, and technical evaluations of networking solutions and derive recommendations based on performance, scalability, and usability criteria.
  • Moreover, you will collaborate with experts, product teams, and ecosystem partners to develop technical concepts, innovation assets, technical presentations, and whitepapers.
  • Finally, you will support technology scouting and strategic innovation activities by investigating market trends, industry developments, customer needs, and future technology opportunities in the Software-Defined Vehicle domain.

Qualifications

  • Studies in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded System, Information Technology, or comparable
  • Programming experience in C/C++ and/or Python; basic knowledge of networking technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP, switching, routing); knowledge of Linux and development tools; experience with embedded systems; experience with automotive software, AUTOSAR, or vehicle communication is a plus; practical experience from university, research projects, Formula Student, personal projects, or previous internships is welcome
  • You are curious and passionate about innovation; you excel at solving complex analytical problems, eagerly learning new technologies under uncertainty, while collaborating with your team to transform ideas into tangible results
  • We offer you the opportunity to work in a hybrid setup (office presence 2-3 days per week)
  • You are interested in Software-Defined Networking (SDN), TSN, or Software-Defined Vehicles
  • Very good in English, German is a plus

Start: according to prior agreement
Duration: 6 months (confirmation of mandatory internship required)
